An autonomous car can be defined as one vehicle that has a guidance system that allows you to go somewhere, independently and without the intervention of a human driver. With the advancement of technologies in areas such as computer vision and robotics, new discoveries are constantly being produced in the area that promises to contribute from various forms to society. This document aims to describe the main aspects of the project developed by the robotics team of the Group SEMEAR from School of Engineering of São Carlos for the first race championship of scaled autonomous vehicles of Brazil – RoboCar Race. The main purpose of the project was to develop a computational vision algorithm capable of simulating autonomous navigation in a robot, simulating an autonomous car application in scale and, in this way, contribute to this important and growing area.
